Weekend Report: Turning the Caboose End for End!

On Saturday, three volunteers assisted Bob, our museum manager, in operating the museum as visitor traffic begins to build as spring nears. On the restoration front, a team of 6 TRHA volunteers  finished the rear roofwalk, completed a variety of outstanding painting tasks, installed more windows, prepared for painting inside the caboose, and caulked gaps in the wood on the front end.

The caboose was now now ready for a Sunday session to turn it around!  Why turn it round? The track on which the caboose resides is against a wall making access to the other side difficult. The pictures below capture the action as the caboose was pulled out and rotated on the turntable so that it could be moved back into the stall. Now work can continue on restoration of the other side of the caboose.
