The Toronto Railway Museum is again attending the Ottawa Train Expo. We attended the inaugural show in May 2012, and are thrilled to be attending again. This show is already one of the largest Model Railroad shows in Canada in terms of floor area and attendance. The show is held on May 4 and 5th at the Carleton University Field House in Ottawa and is open from 10:00 am -4:30 pm on Saturday, and 10:00 am – 4:00 pm on Sunday. Admission prices, parking information and directions along with a full list of vendors and exhibitors can be found on their website: http://www.ottawatrainexpo.com
Last year, the Toronto Railway Museum had countless people come by and find out about us for the very first time at the show, and we are looking forward to updating those in attendance on our ongoing projects and developments at the Roundhouse, as well as encouraging visitors to make the trip down the 416/401 or on the train with VIA Rail to come and experience the Toronto Railway Museum for themselves. But, for those who can’t make it to Toronto, we are bringing the roundhouse to them, at least figuratively as can be seen in the teaser image attached to this news posting. Those in attendance can see for themselves and we will have a future news posting on the mystery model during the show next weekend. The Toronto Railway Museum is at Booth F6, just walk straight ahead down the first aisle when you enter the show as seen on the floor plan below!!
Please be sure to introduce yourself to Andrew, Heather and Stephen who will be staffing our booth for the weekend. We will have our slide show running with historical and current photos of the roundhouse and our activities, the aforementioned teaser model, and at least one big light-up historical artifact on display with us this year!!
