Video: Quadcopters & The Grand Valley Trestle in Pickering, Ontario

Much has been published recently about drone technology and the imminent explosion of their use for commercial freight traffic in the air in the next few years.  Drone technology in the form of radio controlled “quadcopters” is even available to amateurs for an investment of a couple of thousand dollars.

This technology opens great possibilities for the railway enthusiast who is capturing the history of railroading as it happens. The video above clearly demonstrates the impressive railway videos whcih can be produced as a result.  It contrasts the brightly coloured container train against the dramatic ice-covered forests surrounding the Grand Valley Trestle.
