Toronto Railway Museum Reopening
The Toronto Railway Museum will reopen starting next week on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. Our two, new guided tours will operate as well as the museum space in Stall 17 of the Roundhouse. For now, the Mini Train, Train Simulator, and Don Station gift shop will remain closed. The safety and well-being of our visitors, volunteers, and museum staff are our highest priority. While we are looking forward to welcoming you back, additional health and safety precautions are in place. We ask that visitors stay home if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or are considered to be in a high risk category.
Before visiting, please use Ontario Health’s self-assessment tool available here.
All visits to the museum must be pre-book tickets to visit the museum and register for a guided tour. Timed ticketing will accommodate reduced visitor numbers and physical distancing. To pre-book your tickets, visit our Eventbrite page. Please note that admission to the museum is included in guided tour tickets, but all visits must be pre-booked in advance.
All staff are required to wear a mask. We strongly encourage visitors to wear a non-medical mask or face covering if they are able, frequently wash or sanitize hands, and maintain physical distancing inside and outside of the museum and on tours. We thank our visitors in advance for complying with these new modifications.
New directional signage installed in the museum will assist with visitor flow through exhibits, and hands-on and interactive exhibits have been temporarily removed. Guided tours will operate several times daily to accommodate smaller tour group sizes. We have enhanced our cleaning and disinfecting routines for your health and safety during your visit.
If you don’t feel comfortable visiting the museum yet, we will continue to have various ways of interacting digitally. Browse through our virtual museum, join us in future online lectures with historian Derek Boles (which will be announced here and on our other social media channels), and feel free to listen to our audio guide!
