Preparing for a new diesel engine install in our CLC Whitcomb!
Click on each image for a closer look!
As you may recall from TRHA news posts last summer, one of the two diesel engines in our CLC Whitcomb locomotive failed last summer. This winter we removed the failed engine and order a new reconditioned engine as its replacement. In these photos, we find our new engine being delivered to the Roundhouse. We also see parts being removed from our old engine to be cleaned up and used to install the new engine. The engine area of the Whitcomb has also been cleaned up and painted in preparation for the installation. Finally, below, we see Elwood the Crane being set up for a test lift of the engine to ensure that all is ready for the final installation.
