New storage facilities for the miniature railway!
We are out growing the storage available in our Miniature Railway Depot so we are adding a storage facility right beside the current building. We will be using a commercial 40″ diameter culvert to house some of our passenger cars with a track inside it. In the pictures below, we see the handiwork of a few of our staff and volunteers who moved seemingly endless wheelbarrows of stone which was laid upon geo-textile cloth to prepare a bed for this storage unit.
To wrap the up the day, a new cooling system hose was fitted to our #7020 diesel switcher (also shown below). The rubber adapter from 4-1/2″ to 5″ required at one end of the hose had to come from Seattle. We now plan to re-fill the cooling system, apply 8 psi working pressure and check for leaks.
