Historic Images: CN 6060 in steam!
6060 Emerald St West August 1976: CN excursion 6060 heads Eastbound in the morning towards the Niagara Peninsula under Hamilton’s Emerald Street Footbridge. The vintage footbridge has a web page of its own, click here to check it out. Note all that’s now gone in this scene, from the Steel Company of Canada plant in the upper left, railway pole line, and South and North railway service tracks on each side of the mainlines to service heavily industrialized Hamilton.

6060 Bayview Junction July 1976: Returning from Niagara Falls in the late afternoon, the excursion train rounds the bend at the West end of Lake Ontario (Hamilton Harbour), and passes under the RBG footbridge… a very popular railfanning spot. With the increase in GO Transit commuter service, three tracks now pass through here, and the junction alignment has changed.”
