Dale Goldhawk is a journalist, author and broadcaster with more than 44 years experience in Canadian newspapers, radio, television, including the Toronto Telegram, CBC Television, CBC Radio, Global Television and the CTV Television Network. He has developed a well deserved reputation for fighting back for our citizens when there is “wrong to be righted”.
Last month, Dale interviewed Orin Krivel, the President of our Toronto Railway Historical Association (TRHA). Click here to listen to that interview.
Dale subsequently visited the Roundhouse and spoke with Orin again for a Zoomer Radio broadcast. They were joined by Derek Boles, our TRHA Historian. In this interview, Derek explains the historical significance of the Roundhouse and the Machine Shop and expresses how shocked that everyone is that Toronto Hydro, which is owned by the City of Toronto, is so bent on destroying a National Historic Site when viable options presented by the TRHA’s architects are so obviously available to Hydro. Dale concludes by wondering why the City Councillors on the Hydro Board don’t put a stop to this nonsense and save both a National Historic Site and a wonderful addition to the attractions in the City of Toronto.
Toronto Hydro has agreed to meet with the TRHA this coming Thursday. We will keep you posted on the outcome.
