Continuing with our coverage of the May 29th and 30th opening weekend of the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre, we turn our attention to the activities surrounding the train show in the Roundhouse. Always a popular feature with visitors, we once again hosted the train show in the meeting and events area of the Steam Whistle Brewery who made this area available to us.

In the pictures above, we see the sales area set up by the Toronto Railway History Association to sell t-shirts, books, prints and other merchandise related to our museum’s focus. We also encouraged donations to the “Save the LRC” fund. In the centre image above, an original painting of the CPR Roundhouse by Larry Fisher was displayed at the TRHA shop and large prints of this painting were being sold to eager buyers. The original painting was generously donated to the Toronto Railway Heritage Centre by the NMRA (National Model Railway Association) 2003 Convention Committee and will be exhibited in our museum.

In the pictures below, we see some of the wonderful portable model railroad layouts brought out by a number of individuals, clubs and groups in our area. These are always a big hit with visitors.
