CRHA Niagara kicks off a new season this Wednesday!
The Canadian Railway Historical Association owns and operates Exporail, our national railway museum in Delson, Quebec across the St. Lawrence River just south of Montreal. They also publish a monthly magazine, Canadian Rail, and you can access decades of these issues online by clicking here.
They also have chapters across Canada which they call “Divisions” (to use railway parlance). I belong to one such Division, the CRHA Niagara Division. This group of several dozen railway fans has for many years pursued their passion of documenting the history of our railways as it unfolds. As a result they have decades of great photographic images from their railfan expeditions across North America.
We meet monthly from September through June with the evening being devoted primarily to sharing our pictorial railway histories.
As shown in the poster above, they will be launching their 2013-2014 monthly meetings this Wednesday, September 25th at 7:00 p.m. This meeting will feature a special presentation by Helmut Osterman. Everyone is welcome to join us at this “season opener”.
The Lock 3 Museum is a short distance south of the QEW’s Garden City Skyway Bridge over the Welland Canal. It is located at 1932 Welland Canals Parkway in St. Catharines. It is only an hour’s drive from the Greater Toronto area!
