The Toronto Railway Historical Association has a pair of wheel jacks that were originally used in the John Street Roundhouse’s bays 27-30 to raise and lower steam engine wheelsets. These would function similarly to a jack for road vehicles, and would likely play an important role in repairing damage on the bottom of steam locomotives when the roundhouse was in operation.
