The TRHA has acquired many photographs pertaining to Toronto’s railway history as well as some from further abroad. Some of these were acquired through donations, and others come from the collections of third parties that have given us permission to use them. Photographs are a window into the past, providing an opportunity to bring us closer to previous eras of railroading than words ever could. They are one of the most impactful forms of media used to tell the story of Toronto’s railways.

In 2010, TRHA member Wilson Lau acquired this 35mm slide of our TH&B caboose when it was in operation through eBay. The photo is by Edward J. Stoll from August of 1971 in Hamilton, Ontario as noted on the 35 mm slide itself. 
A circa 1950’s photo of Canadian Pacific 3100 next to a pair of water columns at the John Street Roundhouse. These water columns were connected through underground pipes to the nearby water tower.
