As reported before, contractors are now actively working on disassembling the machine shop in order to allow Toronto Hydro to build their underground electrical substation behind the Roundhouse.  In order to do so, the heavy artefacts in the machine shop are now being retrieved and stored offsite. In this posting, we focus on TH&B Caboose #70.  Untold hours of restoration efforts over the past few years by our dedicated volunteers resulted in the the Caboose being ready to be rolled for display on Door Opens weekend.  The caboose attracted large crowds of park visitors throughout the weekend.

Each year, Doors Open weekend is a special event at the Toronto Railway Museum as we pull out all of the stops and present as many attractions as possible for the visitng public.  In the early years of our museum development this really was an annual event and the only

Once again this year we will be mounting as many attractions as we can this coming Saturday (May 25th) and Sunday (May 26th) including our usual small Train Show in the Steam Whistle’s entertainment space.  So do come down and enjoy what we have to offer as railway oriented experiences.

Continuing on from our previous posting on the model of Stalls 15 and 16 in HO Scale, once the drywall compound “concrete” floor had set, it was painted to look more like concrete, and the walls could start being installed.  Image 10 shows the cinder block wall of Stall 15
