Over the past few years, we have posted numerous railway oriented night photos. A number are presented here to illustrate how powerful they can be. In an earlier TRHA News posting, we documented a recent initiative by a number of our accomplished photographers in our TRHA community to test Roundhouse Park locations for night time photo opportunities.
.
The Toronto Railway Historical Assocation (TRHA) and this group of photographers are now planning to take a series of night photos for publicity purposes in Roundhouse Park starting at dusk on Sunday, September 26th, 2010, weather permitting.
.
While this will not be a formal public event, it is taking place in a public park and interested people are welcome to watch the action and take their own photographs. TRHA volunteers will be ensuring the safety of our crews and spectators. There will be a few areas, especially around the turntable pit, where the general public will not be permitted to go because of safety concerns. Planned scenes include a lineup of steam and diesel locomotives outside the roundhouse and diesel locomotives posed in railway village area.
.
If all goes well during this event, the TRHA may conduct further more formal night photo shoots for interested members of the public in the future with substantially greater notice.
