Back Essential Upkeep!
Gearing up for an action-packed 2024!
As we approach the end of another incredible year at the Toronto Railway Museum, we want to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude for your ongoing support. Your contributions have allowed us to preserve and showcase our rich railway history, and we are truly grateful for your commitment to our mission.
We are very fortunate to have Roundhouse Park as an outdoor gallery space to display the museum’s collection of locomotives, rolling stock, and railway artifacts. Roundhouse Park is accessible and free for everyone, and is animated through storytelling of Toronto’s railway past, present, and future.
However, large locomotives lead to costly repairs, restoration, and maintenance. Did you know the TRM volunteer team is responsible for maintenance of the rolling stock? Our Restoration team is made up of about twenty individuals with a passion for Toronto’s railway history that they share with our community.
Essential Maintenance
As we look ahead to the new year, we are embarking on an exciting giving campaign. We are in need of funds to install essential lighting in the Roundhouse Park to better serve the neighbourhood, as well as to undertake necessary repairs, restoration, and maintenance on some of our most treasured rolling stock pieces. With your generous contribution, we can make the following and more possible in 2024:
- Install lighting for Roundhouse Park to have better accessibility and safety at night.
- Install accessible fencing around crowd-favourite steam locomotive No. 6213 to provide better visitor experiences.
- Fresh paint and a new door for the CN caboose, which was recently vandalized.
