Daniel Allen is one of the core members of our History Team. Daniel is a railway historian who specializes in research on southwestern and central Ontario branchlines.  Originally from Lindsay, Ontario, his interest in railway history began at a young age after reading and learning about the numerous trains and railways that branched out of his hometown.  Daniel is also a certified Music Therapist. When not researching railways, he is busy facilitating sessions and teaching lessons through his private practice.

As a part of the History Team, Daniel Allen primarily develops “then and now” photo projects showing locations of railway scenes in the modern day. A new project led by Daniel is the encyclopedic cataloguing of railway stations in Ontario, and examples of his work can be seen here. Daniel has been part of the TRHA History Team since 2020. The History Team can be reached for inquiries via email at research@trha.ca
