A Beaver group from the Scouts Canada organization arranged with us for a special evening visit on Wednesday, May 3rd. At first the weather seemed like it might not cooperate, but by 7:00 we had clear skies and the two steam engines ready to go in front of Don Station. The Beaver Scouts were introduced to locomotives 4803 and 7020, the turntable, Don Station (where John was seen doing guided tours of his office) and the miniature railway trains. The Beavers seemed to have a blast.
Heritage Toronto was also meeting at the Steam Whistle facilities that evening and many of them also rode on our miniature railway. We spotted the editor of the Torontoist, the chief writer of its Historicist articles, at least one Heritage Toronto board member and many staff from E.R.A. Architects.
