Ottawa is home to many associations, clubs and groups who avidly pursue their interest in the history of railways and the building of models of railways. This year, the organizers went all out and held probably the largest train show held in Eastern Canada in recent years. It was called the Ottawa Train Expo and more information about it can be found by clicking here.
The TRHA was there! As shown in the photos above we made visitors aware of the tremendous progress that we have made in developing the museum concept. We also also shared with them the challenging crisis we are now facing as Toronto Hydro has decided to drop their former support of the museum, destroy a National Historic site and eliminate the core element of the Toronto Railway Museum. Visit our “Save the Museum” website to learn more!
Below we find a photo of a small bus used by an Ottawa N-Gauge Club to bring their portable layout to train shows. Its paint job is a beautiful rendering of the Atcheson, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad’s “Warbonnet” paint scheme. Also shown below is part of one of the many wonderful portable model railroad layouts to be found at the show.
