Toronto Railway Museum Season Opener a Great Success – Part 1 of 5

The Toronto Railway Museum “Season Opener”, held traditionally on the Toronto Doors Open weekend, was a great success.  It was held on Saturday, May 26th and Sunday, May 27th.  Dozens of volunteers helped staff all of the museum’s attractions. Also we thank the many exhibitors who brought their portable model railroad layouts and other exhibits to our Train Show, held in Steam Whistle Brewery’s entertainment space.  Over 4,000 people came through the Train Show area on Saturday alone!

In this first part of our TRHA News Posting about the event, we are posting pictures from the Temporary Museum Display Space created by our volunteers to provide visitors access to a few of the artefacts in our collection.  The display space also included a number of display monitors which showed movies about railway history in the Toronto area and across Canada.  Immediately beside the display space was our U33C Diesel Cab simulator which was also very popular with our visitors.  At the entrance to this space, we also did a brisk business selling railway related merchandise.
