U of T Museum Students make their contribution!

Since they mostly work with us during the week and usually not during the weekends when most of our volunteers turn out to help, a group of museum studies students (about a dozen in number) from the University of Toronto have been applying their new found knowledge to the needs of the Toronto Railway Museum.  Bob Dickson, our museum manager, has been coordinating their working with us.

The primary tasks that they have undertaken is the cataloging of our collection of artefacts to museum standards which is typically done offsite where most of our artefacts collection is stored.

On a recent visit to the museum, I found Katie, one of the museum studies students, applying her new found skill in exhibit design to follow through on one of her recommendations – the expansion and upgrading of the children’s wooden train play area.

Our thanks go out to Katie and all of the other students for contributing to the evolution of the Toronto Railway Museum.
