The area around York, Hanover and East Freedom in Pennsylvania has a rich Civil War era railway history. An ambitious project called “Steam into History” plans to build a civil war era passenger train which it will operate beginning this summer to relive that history. They commissioned the building of a brand new 4-4-0 American steam locomotive based on the engines of that era.
In the video above, we see the beautiful tender and locomotive being loaded up for delivery to the railroad. More photos can be found by clicking here at the website of the folks who built it (and a couple of others as well). This new railway history museum on wheels will only be a 7 hour drive from Toronto!
