Scion City Chase Event centres on Roundhouse Park!

In late June, Roundhouse Park was the focus for the Scion City Chase, a cross Canada event which has individuals and teams pitting themselves against a series of challenges as they navigate their way around the City. The event raises significant money for the “Right to Play” charity. The 2 minute video above promotes the event. The organizers pitch the event as follows:

  • ADVENTUROUS – Canada’s Largest and First Urban Adventure Series
  • UNIQUE – an urban adventure that requires participants to exhibit teamwork, resourcefulness, determination and the ability to make decisions on the fly!
  • CHALLENGING – Chase Points are scattered in unknown locations throughout the city; you have to navigate your way through the city, calling family and friends for help, accessing the Internet, scanning social media and even employing the assistance of total strangers!
  • UNFORGETTABLE – Designed to test limits with a variety of physical, intellectual, adventurous and humorous challenges.
  • INCLUSIVE – City Chase is probably NOT the Toughest Event on the Planet! But it may be the most fun…
  • ACCESSIBLE – The Chase is NOT hosted in a farmer’s field or at a ski resort – it’s right outside your door in the heart of the City!

Once again, we found our miniature railway operating in and amongst the tents and booths of the event which brought a welcome crowd to our Museum operations.
