The TRHA has acquired several authentic schedule boards from railway stations in southern Ontario. Some of these are on display, while others are in storage until we find the necessary space. Wooden train schedule boards mounted on the exterior walls were a feature of all smaller railway stations and provided passengers with pertinent information about the trains that stopped there.

CPR West Toronto Station Schedule Boards

In 2014, the TRHA acquired two of the schedule boards that were once mounted on Canadian Pacific’s West Toronto Station. Before being donated, the boards were painted with train times based on the actual 1971 timetable. These schedule boards now anchor an interpretive display of The Canadian, the Canadian Pacific Railway’s flagship passenger train which served West Toronto from 1955 to until the station was closed in 1978. It was the last train to stop at West Toronto before its demolition in 1982.

CPR Agincourt Station Schedule Boards

The TRHA received a donation from John Kendall in 2010 which included the schedule boards from Canadian Pacific’s Agincourt Station. The schedule boards were photographed at the second station built in 1960, but it is possible they came from the original station which was built in 1884. The boards feature the schedule of VIA Rail trains that would have stopped at the station in 1979. They have been put on display at Don Station.
