A Guide to Railfanning in Toronto 2010 (2 MB) This 16 page guide has been developed by Derek Boles of the TRHA to provide locals and visitors alike with a list of the many different locations of interest in the Toronto area for railfans. The John St. Roundhouse – Article from Wood Design and Building Magazine (4 mb) The article does a fine job of documenting the restoration of our fine wooden structure. It was an article in the Winter 2009-2010 issue of the Wood Design and Building magazine published by the Wood Council of Canada. It is reproduced with their permission. Toronto Railway Museum Opening Announcement (972 KB) This poster announces the inaugral opening weekend of the Toronto Railway Museum on May 29th and May 30th which coincides with the Toronto-wide Doors Open event! Rail Hog by James Dickson (210 KB) & The Night Train from Omemee by James Dickson (199 KB) Bob Dickson of the TRHA reports that "My great uncle James Dickson started working for CN in Toronto in 1929 as secretary to the comptroller. In 1932 they moved the office to Montreal. He worked for CN for 44 years. My grandfather worked for the railway for 27 years. Both my grandfather and great uncle grew up on the railway as my great grandfather started working for the railways in 1883, with the Northern and NorthWestern R.R. in Georgetown as Station Agent. Later with GTR and CN until 1935 where he retired in Omemee." Bob's great uncle wrote the letters (above) about train operations and train travel back then... great reading... TRHC Commemorative Booklet – The Relocation of CNR 6213 to Roundhouse Park (5 MB) This eight page booklet was prepared for the TRHA by Richard McQuade with the assistance of R. Sandusky, G. Kingsland and B. Dickson to commemorate the move of #6213 from the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) Grounds to its new home at the John St. CPR Roundhouse in 2009 |
